Introducing Members and Trustees of The Association of Remedial Teaching for People with Developmental Handicaps (Public-service Corporation)

Our association consists of 1500 members. Half of the members are parents and 30% are specialists for developmental disabilities. These include doctors, health nurses, teachers, clinic staff, kindergarten teachers and various therapists such as Speech-Language-Hearing therapists, physical therapists and occupational therapists. The remaining 20 % are citizens.

Board of Trustees@

The board of trustees decides the general direction of our activities and approves the plans that our staff designed so that they can carry them out. The board of trustees consists of 13 people. 6 of them are representatives of the families. They have mentally disabled brothers, sisters or children, and some of them work as medical doctors or lawyers. The others consist of 2 medical doctors, a lawyer, 2 representatives from the related organizations, a journalist and a staff member from our organization. We try to choose our direction without bias, and welcomes wide variety of ideas.

Supervisors@

Supervisors make sure that the corporation runs properly. We have 2 supervisors including a certified public accountant.

In October 2001, "Sazanka no Kai (Camelia Club)" was accredited as a public-service corporation, and Kamiya Workshop became independent and is known as "Workhouse Pegasus".
